ABOUT MIGHTYPOP

MIGHTYPOP is run by Krista Power and Jud Haynes. We book and promote shows for touring bands that want to travel to, and play in, Newfoundland. We've booked and promoted shows for Owen Pallett, Elliott Brood, Great Lake Swimmers, Said the Whale and Hey Rosetta among dozens of others - check out the PAST SHOWS page for the full list. THANKS

We couldn't do this without the support of some amazing people and want to thank them:

  • TONY MURRAY, the manager of The Ship/Rock House/Duke operations. A great guy who we love working with and are proud to say has become a fantastic friend.

  • NEIL TARGETT acts as our MIGHTYPOP rep for all shows in Corner Brook. We've known him for years, we've stayed at his house with his girlfriend and beautiful Newfoundland dog. He's been a huge supporter of the Corner Brook music scene for years running Corner Brook Music from his home.

  • LESLEY READE, has volunteered with us many many times and asked for nothing in return. She is always in a good mood and we love having her around. Love you Lesley!

  • ELLING and BRYH of The Scope fame. We often advertise in the Scope and love what they do. Two years ago we didn't know this wonderful couple and now are very happy that they've become such great friends.

  • ALEX PIERSON, plays drums in many great local bands and has also volunteered to do many of the dirty jobs like loading and carrying all the heavy gear. Alex is another who we didn't know so well a year ago but now hold close in our hearts. He and his lovely lady Sarah also recently became parents, congratulations!

  • MARK BENNETT, a local photographer that has photographed almost every show we've hosted (click over to the PHOTOS page).

  • A huge thank you to all of you that have been frequenting our shows too, there have been A LOT of friendly faces that attend show after show and we're happy to have become friends with so many of you.
